Abstract: This interactive discussion forum explores current issues in amplification, including hearing aid use and cognition, fitting options for mild hearing loss or normal hearing individuals, the integration of multi-purpose OTC devices, and effective implementation of validation and verification measures. Participants will engage in peer-to-peer dialogue to share practical strategies, ethical considerations, and evidence-informed approaches, fostering reflective discussion on patient-centered care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and modern clinical decision-making in audiology.

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion, participant will be able to explore evolving definitions of candidacy and technology selection in amplification.
  • Upon completion, participant will be able to critically examine clinical and ethical considerations as they relate to hearing aid selection, fitting, verification, follow-up, and patient education.
  • Upon completion, participant will be able to evaluate and integrate diverse perspectives from peer discussion to refine evidence-informed, patient-centered amplification strategies.
