Dr. Anthony P. Kontos is Professor and Vice-Chair of Clinical Research in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, and Research Director of the Concussion Research Laboratory and UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program. He has specialized in concussion research for 20 years, with an H-index of 64 and 305 peer-reviewed publications along with over 520 presentations at scientific and professional meetings. His research has been funded by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Department of Defense, and National Institutes of Health, and focuses on active treatments and clinical trials; risk factors; neurocognitive/neuromotor assessments and effects; psychological issues; and concussion and brain health in military, pediatric, and sport populations. Dr. Kontos is fellow of the National Academy of Kinesiology, American College of Sports Medicine, Association for Applied Sport Psychology, and American Psychological Association. He is also co-author of Concussion: A Clinical Profile Based Approach to Assessment and Treatment.
