Sarah N. McAlexander, AuD, is a pediatric audiologist with Texas Hearing Institute, a non-profit clinic providing audiology services to children with hearing loss in the greater Houston area. She obtained her Doctorate of Audiology from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 2021, specializing in Early Identification and Management of Children with Hearing Loss. She additionally completed coursework in interdisciplinary care for children with multiple disabilities as a Leadership in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) fellow and received additional training in advanced cochlear implant programming through the Institute for Cochlear Implant Training in 2022. Dr. McAlexander currently manages Texas Hearing Institute’s ABR program, ensuring all infants seen at THI receive timely access to diagnosis and intervention services in accordance with CDC guidelines. She currently holds a Pediatric Audiology Specialty Certification through the American Board of Audiology (ABA). Dr. McAlexander actively contributes to the audiology community on both the state and national level. She serves as the chair-elect of the Student Academy of Audiology Advisory Committee for AAA, volunteers for various committees involved in organizing the annual AAA conferences, and sits on the Board of Trustees as the Chair-elect for the AAA Foundation. She holds a position on the Texas Academy of Audiology (TAA) Board of Directors as the current Secretary/Treasurer. Dr. McAlexander is deeply involved in advocating for equitable access to pediatric audiology services and early intervention for children with hearing loss across Texas, collaborating closely with the TAA Legislative Issues Committee and Pediatric Audiology Working Group. Outside of audiology, Dr. McAlexander is a massive fan of Taylor Swift and sings with a barbershop quartet.
