Abstract: The Audible Contrast Threshold (ACT™) test helps clinicians optimize hearing aid settings for better speech-in-noise performance. The ACT value predicts how well individuals with hearing loss will perform in noisy environments, guiding adjustments to noise reduction and microphone technology. Now used globally, this module reviews ACT’s clinical efficacy, usability, and value. We will explore integration challenges, offering insights from diverse practices. Real-world case studies will highlight complex audiometric profiles and troubleshooting strategies. The module concludes by demonstrating how ACT values inform advanced hearing aid programming, enhancing patient outcomes and improving the listening experience from the initial fitting onward

Summary: The Audible Contrast Threshold test (ACT™) is a recently developed clinical tool designed to support hearing care professionals in optimizing advanced hearing aid settings for improved speech-in-noise performance.
