Gregory M. Ellis, Ph.D. is in his third year as a Research Scientist with Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Greg received his Ph.D. from the University of Louisville where he studied with Dr. Pavel Zahorik. His research focused on the perception of sounds in rooms in individuals with normal and impaired hearing. After receiving his Ph.D., he completed a postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Pamela Souza at Northwestern University, studying the effects of hearing aid processing on speech perception in rooms. He now focuses his work on the effects of noise and blast exposure on the perceptual abilities of human listeners. He is interested in improving the quality of life of individuals with “normal” hearing thresholds with high levels of hearing complaint.
